Are you passionate about working with young learners in a faith-centered environment? Do you enjoy supporting teachers and helping students thrive in a small, family-like school community? Pathfinders Academy is seeking a Teacher’s Helper to assist our K-2 Teacher in creating an engaging and nurturing learning environment.
Who We Are
At Pathfinders Academy, we believe in self-driven, hands-on learning where students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop a love for learning. Our K-2 classroom is a dynamic space where students grow academically, socially, and spiritually with the guidance of a dedicated teacher. The Teacher’s Helper plays a key role in ensuring the classroom runs smoothly by providing support, encouragement, and practical assistance.
What We’re Looking For
We need a dependable and enthusiastic individual who:
Loves working with young children and understands the importance of nurturing their growth
Is a team player who works closely with the lead teacher, anticipating needs and stepping in where needed
Has a heart for Christian education and can help foster a Christ-centered classroom
Is flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks, from preparing materials to helping manage the classroom environment
Supports students by encouraging participation, assisting with activities, and offering gentle guidance
Values a small-school community and enjoys being an integral part of a close-knit learning environment
Responsibilities
Assist the K-2 Teacher with classroom activities, projects, and daily routines
Provide one-on-one or small-group support for students as directed by the teacher
Help with classroom organization, setup, and cleanup
Assist in preparing materials for lessons and activities
Supervise students during transitions, playtime, and other non-instructional times
Support the teacher in maintaining a calm, structured, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications
A love for working with young children and a desire to see them grow academically and spiritually
A strong Christian faith and alignment with Pathfinders Academy’s mission
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
Ability to follow directions and take initiative when needed
Prior experience working with children is a plus but not required

Builds Cross-Curricular Projects – Designs and implements interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect multiple subjects and make learning dynamic, hands-on, and real-world applicable.
Fosters Student Growth – Encourages students to think critically, problem-solve, and take initiative in their learning journey.
Values a Small-School Community – Thrives in a close-knit, personalized educational setting where relationships with students and families are central.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Teaching certification preferred)
Experience with upper elementary grades (3-5)
A strong Christian worldview and ability to integrate faith into teaching
A desire to facilitate student-led learning rather than direct traditional instruction
Ability to creatively design and build engaging cross-curricular projects that make learning meaningful and connected
Strong collaboration skills and a heart for mentoring students
